Williamsburg is quickly becoming the go to place for shopping in the New York City region. Get off at the Bedford Ave subway platform and become surrounded by boutiques. In between shopping you can enjoy the street art, performers, local coffee shops, and beautiful skyline from various rooftops or the harbor. Here are a couple noteworthy shops we found exploring the city;
Kinfolk Shop (photo above)- 94 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn NY
When you enter the shop you will see a large display on your right hand side of everything from records, to accessories, to home decor. Its all very well organized and welcoming to explore. The rest of the Kinfolk shop are small displays of the latest designers such as Bleu De Paname, Maharishi, Bedwin & The Heartbreakers, Maiden Noir, Wings+Horns, Lewis Leathers, Metaphore, Delux, La Paz, Shanana Mills and our their own Kinfolk 94 Wythe label. Prices are very reasonable and average $150.
Kinfolk is not only a shopping destination, with locations in LA and Tokyo Kinfolk is also a performance space, gallery, and coffee shop. Right next door is the Kinfolk restaurant and lounge that’s open late. Kinfolk studios is open everyday of the week and can be reached at 347.799.2946 Learn more about at KinfolkLife.com
ID Brooklyn; 232B Bedford Ave Brooklyn, NY
ID is a much larger space that occupies the corner of Bedford, and N 4th Street. Their rows and rows of color coordinated racks is perfectly organized for you to find exactly the style you are looking for. ID prices are mostly under $100 and you will find everything from swim suits, shorts, pants, ties, bow ties, backpacks, shoes and more. You will find everything you might need in this one shop excluding suits. One item that caught our eye are reversible shorts (photo on left) by Descendents of Thieves for $85, pair this with the reversible shirt we wrote about earlier this week and you have four outfits. The back of the store is their bag and shoe displays (photo below) as well as large fitting rooms to try anything on. They do carry woman’s clothing as well, so bring your friends but the shop is mainly focused on their men’s clothing collections. The store recently opening this year, so their online directory and information is very sparse. But we are confident that in no time this boutique will become more popular and easier to access online. Meanwhile you can find out location information and some of the brands they carry at IDNewYork.com and you can reach them at 718.599.0790 , Salut!
